The Maslow Hotel, Time Square

The location was good and I want to commend Khomotso who checked me in and proceeded to try his best to sort out my MANY MANY ISSUES WITH THIS PROPERTY. The Front Office Manager (I forget his name) also did his best to shift me until the 4th room as all the rooms allocated to me had SOOOOO MANY ISSUES. Deli who checked me out was also very professional and handled all issues to the best of her ability.

Despite making my booking 4 months in advance and specifying the type and location of the room I wanted, I was given the exact opposite. I requested for a room on the highest floor and furthest away from the elevator where I would have peace and quiet, and the opposite was done. 3 rooms later, I was in a room where the A/C didnt work properly (it wasnt cooling and made a horrendous sound) the sink was flooding, there was no light in the wardrobe, there was only half a toilet paper, there was no safe, no drinking water, and when I requested for a robe and bathroom slippers I was asked to put down a deposit of R500 in case I steal the robe. So I was "upgraded" from the "Foundation room" (which is apparently 3 star according to the property) to a "Median room (which is apparently a 4 star room). Upon returning to my room in the evening after my busy day, I found no water, no towels, yesterday's fruits still on the table making the room smell and the coffee I'd used not replaced. BTW there was a cappuccino machine without the cappuccino sachets. So I called housekeeping and the housekeeper sent had very dirty filthy shoes and her trouser zipper was wide opened. She looked very upset so I decided to write down (on the one page of my writing pad) all issues I had instead of talking to her I was a bit afraid. Thereafter, I put my "Do Not Disturb" sign outside my door as I was fed up but the housekeeper comes and budges in which her master key claiming she's bringing something... I asked her to leave and fix the items the next day. Oh and btw I had knocks from room service and housekeeping even with the DND sign displayed several times during my stay. After the 3rd night, the drinking water still was not replaced in the room. The hand towels had spots of dirt as well. The room service and transport staff at the concierge desk could do with some training on their communication skills with the guests...

Breakfast was awesome ! We were on the 15th floor and only a few steps away from the Solis Bar (pool and bar). Easy entrance to the casino. Car was parked safely for us (although after waiting 20 minutes when checking out, we fetched the car ourselves)

No hot water (barely lukewarm) in our room at around 9pm, so had to have cold shower and bath. Shower head/fittings did not work properly. No signal to watch TV in the am (love my news 1st thing in the morning). Superior King Room definitely not worth the price. General areas, lounges and casino are not cleaned for hours (dirty ashtrays and glasses were left on the tables etc for hours).

The pool and bar on 15th floor that doesn't have real hours, we wanted to enjoy that at the end I'd the day, kept finding closed at 18:00.

Thank you for Reservations Manager and Staff on the 18th September for assisting my family before I arrived at the hotel. 3 rooms for me were ready and a very excellent service rendered by Staff until I Checked out the next day.

Shower without an option of bath The price is higher

Breakfast was fantastic with a wonderful selection you would expect from a hotel of this caliber. Breakfast was served every morning from the 12th floor Luminary Lounge with a magnificent view of the city. The shower was probably my favourite with a great shower head and handheld shower.

The staff at the breakfast area could be a bit more attentive and communicate better when our omelettes would be ready. I had to go and collect them from the breakfast nook about 15 minutes after they were ordered.

Pleasant, Clean, comfy beds, great staff

Couple of bits broken in the room, room door didn’t close on it’s on, part of toilet flusher broken. Booking is cheaper on booking.com even though I am a gold card holder with preferential discounts

Breakfast was amazing, It was my partner’s birthday and we were attending the concert on the night. The Hotel surprised us with a small Cake with a Happy birthday message which I found was amazing and my partner was over the moon. I want to book again soon, We really loved it if only we was staying for longer. She didn’t want to leave…LOL 0517 WAS MY ROOM I LOVED IT.

Wi-Fi was a problem as a guest my surname was not recognized and I couldn’t connect. I had to use my Own DATA.

Nothing after the smelly room .

My room was smelling, it was like a drain. We asked for air freshner which we never got. I booked a room with a view but after complaining I was downgraded to a no view room.

I had a terrible night experience . At 2:07 a.m. in the morning my neighbor at room 312 his/her and TV. making noise . I called front desk 3 times before the matter got resolved. Imagine I went with the sole purpose to rest but I handed regretting why I even went there. I paid so much for poor service.

Bedroom from decor to their extra comfortable beds,bathroom(shower) with toilet and extra soft towels were AWESOME.A BIG BONUS for the kettle and fridge in the room.Impeccable service from the bellboy,security,reception to the restaurant was really above my expectation-5 STARS.Epecially enjoyed the FLAKY croissants to the sumptuous dehli,yummy.Keep up the EXCELLENT work and keep those lovely SMILES. Will definitely come again and for sure recommend this venue to my family and friends.

I really don't have any dislikes. This was my first visit to this venue and well worth the cost.
